Maadi Waqfeya Launches First Artisan Bench Brand to Revive Public Spaces and Empower Youth”

As part of the “OSTAWAT” project to support young artisans, launched by the Waqfeya El-Maadi Foundation, the first brand of traditional street benches (dakka) has now come to light — beginning in Midan El-Arab and soon spreading across Maadi with a unique character that reflects the elegance of our beautiful neighborhood, before reaching the rest of Egypt.

Each bench is endowed as a charitable waqf, crafted by the hands of promising young people. It can carry the name of an individual or group, with the foundation acting as the trustee of this beautiful ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah).

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Governor of Cairo, his dynamic deputy, and Major General Ahmed Gouda, the distinguished head of Maadi district. And last but not least, Cairo Bank’s sponsorship was instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
