Dr. Marwa El Daly currently serves as a Senior Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Sustainable Development in Egypt. In this role, she is instrumental in shaping policies that promote sustainability within higher education and research, bringing her extensive expertise to the forefront of Egypt’s educational development.

Dr. Marwa is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy and Administration at the American University in Cairo. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Humboldt University in Berlin, a Master’s in Sustainable Development Studies, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Economics from the American University in Cairo.

In addition to her academic and advisory roles, Dr. Marwa is the Founder and Chairwoman of the “Waqf Egypt Foundation,” an organization dedicated to creating sustainable social impact. She is also a Board Member of Trust Africa and the General Federation of Egyptian NGOs.

Her academic and professional work spans the fields of social responsibility, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and social entrepreneurship. Dr. Marwa has served as an advisor to Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity, focusing on capacity-building, and has lectured extensively on CSR and social entrepreneurship.

Her research and contributions to the non-profit sector have earned her international recognition, including being named one of the “100 Most Influential Women in the World” by the BBC. She has also received multiple prestigious awards, such as the African Social Giving Award and two Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Awards from Ashoka Arab World and Synergos.

Dr. Marwa’s work continues to inspire and lead global conversations on sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, and the role of academia in shaping a better world.
