The African Philanthropy Conference 2025 Convenes at AUC, with Dr. Marwa El Daly Serving on the Advisory Board
Dr. Marwa El Daly, founder of Waqfeyat Misr and a leading expert in philanthropic innovation, participated as a board member in the 6th African Philanthropy Conference 2025, hosted at The American University in Cairo (AUC).
This year’s theme, “Sustainable Financing for Development in the Majority World,” brought together thought leaders, practitioners, and changemakers from across the continent to explore impactful models of African giving.
Dr.Marwa El Daly delivered a keynote address during the conference’s Opening Plenary, where she highlighted the significance of waqf (endowment) models in sustainable development and contextualized local philanthropy within global discourse.
Organized by TrustAfrica in collaboration with the African Philanthropy Network (APN) and regional partners, the conference marked a pivotal moment in reimagining Africa-led solutions for financing social change.
Her contributions reflected years of groundbreaking work in mobilizing civic engagement and institutionalizing endowment-based giving across Egypt and beyond.
